APPROACH

Folded Realms

Cercle D’Orient explores the potential spatial relationships inherent in the folded surface, particularly in its role as an outdoor entertainment venue and poolside club. The Cercle D’Orient club is a proposal for a restaurant, bar, and club, where all functions should occur simultaneously and fluidly. As a result, organizing the space around a simple folded surface presented an ideal solution. The design provides a series of unique spatial experiences, each interconnected. At the entry level, the base of the fold acts as a platform for outdoor seating, sheltered by the platform above. A series of ramps and stairs lead the user to an elevated seating area, which serves as the open seating for the restaurant and bar.
