1 Site analysis and recordings
Each group will analyze both sites; Jardins Saint Paul and Quai de la Rapee
Pick one site for a more intensive analysis
Dynamic energies/Axis or perspective, lens
Adapt a way of analyzing the site(s) in order to emphasize on your own argument. Have a point of view when doing your research and documentation. Be unique and creative in your research and tools of representation.
2 Paris The physical | dynamic city
The Urban fabric as training/fitness arena.
Each group is to research and analyze how Parisians use their city as a physical training ground. What are important sports or physical activities seen throughout the city? How do Parisians exercise? When? Is it a recurrent or punctual activity? What types of sports integrates the best into the Parisian way of living the city? How does it correspond to a Parisian “body”?
Focus on the uniqueness of the sport or activities, the equipment used, clothes needed, time, schedule, type of activity, intensity, implantation, outdoor/indoor, etc.
How does that activity or sport affect the human body?
3 Programmatic Projections
To finalize, each group will present a summary of the PowerPoint presentation. This proposal/summary should focus on Programmatic projections for their project(s) in response to the conclusions of their analysis. For example, a group might suggest physical training facilities and also create a hybrid with residential or commercial spaces, etc.
The intention is for groups to assess their research and propose the types of programs for their design. These programmatic projections are very open to the students. Hybrid proposals are encouraged.

A research team of the University of Granada has managed to produce the most useful material to date to eliminate pollutants such as benzene, toluene and xylene, organic solvents widely used in the hydrocarbon industry and generated by road traffic in cities. The world-wide problem of the exposure to aromatic hydrocarbons has mainly focused its attention on benzene, which is considered to be harmful to health, even in low concentrations.

An interview with GAD has been published on www.mimarizm.com.
A thin film of plastic can store a holographic image for many hours and be rewritten in minutes – the researchers are working to reduce the refresh rate to the 30 times per second needed for video displays. Note that the camera cannot capture the true 3D effect. (Image: University of Arizona/Nasser Peyghambarian)
A material that can create rewritable holograms could bring 3D displays to the home, or provide dramatically high-capacity computer memory, US researchers say.
A layer of the material can record a holographic image, erase it, and replace it with another in a few minutes. While technological challenges remain, the researchers are confident they can advance the technology to refresh pictures at video frame rates of around 30 times a second.
Thanks to our media scholar Burak Arıkan, we have started to publish hd videos on vimeo.
