Mipim 2018

Gokhan Avcioglu and GAD Foundation (GADEV) major participant in MIPIM real estate fair in Cannes, France. The world’s largest real estate and construction fair, MIPIM, took place in Cannes, France between 13-16, March, 2018 with a large number of international participants from property development, construction and architecture. 

The fair that in previous years Gokhan Avcioglu and GAD had joined in and engaged with great interest was this year marked by the practice’s participation under the concept of their exhibition stand conceived as a B2B platform. The 40 m2 exhibition stand was designed by GAD as a meeting point where fair participants could meet, assemble and speak in a casual, business setting. 

Also this year Avcioglu on the first day of the fair gave a speech at the Moscow City Stand. Investment opportunities and projects for public spaces in Russia were discussed in a panel that included the head architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov and well known Berlin based Russian architect Sergey Tchoban. This year the GAD Foundation (GADEV) founded by Gokhan Avcioglu was given an award for the “Hydepark Library” project by AR Future Project Awards that take place annually at MIPIM. GADEV’s design for Kitapkent for the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce designed in 2017 was also awarded the MIPIM Special Jury Prize completing a busy week for Gokhan Avcioglu at MIPIM 2018 in Cannes.
