With GAD’s new system, a design can take advantage of the Fordist assembly production techniques but use them to create far more adaptive and organic entities.  Flowing and dynamically shaped horizontal and vertical elements combine using standardized methods, but the repetition is structural, pragmatic in nature, not visual or functional. 

 The design is thus able to alter its shape or its volume quite easily and deliberately in reaction to climatic, environmental, and programmatic needs.  It is more than basic flexibility, the design evolves, it responds, it displays augmentative cognition.
