The GAD Foundation is organising a lecture by Ferda Kolatan for October 4th, 2018 at Istanbul Technical University, Taskisla campus in Istanbul at 18:00 in the Nezih Eldem Salon.
Ferda Kolatan is the Founding Director of SU11 Architecture+Design in New York and an Associate Professor of Practice at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Architectural Diploma from the RWTH Aachen and his Masters in Architecture from Columbia University with an Honor Award for Excellence in Design. Mr. Kolatan has taught previously at SCI-Arc, Pratt Institute, Columbia University, and other institutions. He co-authored the book "Meander: Variegating Architecture” and is the author of the forthcoming book "Real Fictions Cairo”. He received numerous awards and was selected as a "Young Society Leader” by the American Turkish Society in New York in 2011. Mr. Kolatan’s firm SU11 was founded in 1999 and is considered one of the leading progressive practices of its generation. Their work has been published widely and exhibited in venues such as MoMA, PS1, Walker Art Center, Vitra Design Museum, Art Basel, Archilab, Artists Space, Siggraph, Acadia, and the Venice, Istanbul, and Beijing Biennials.
