Hype 2 is a high-rise residential project which is located in Bakırköy, Istanbul. The project site is near the Marmara Sea coastline with spectacular views. The site while not directly adjacent to the sea holds the potential for elevated views to the Marmara Sea. It is the interplay of these forces that generated the initial concept for Hype 2. Capturing views of not only Marmara Sea but also different districts of Istanbul is a major ambition for the project. Due to heights of the surrounding buildings, the view is not obstructed, so this affords a unique opportunity to view Istanbul 360 degree.

The site area is 2.500 m2, and the total construction area is approximately 29.140 m2.  The building program includes residences, offices, retail space, restaurants and social activities. These functions are organized in a single building reaching 174 m. The building form was shaped as turning hexagons, resulting in residences with large sweeping balconies that give the building its main character. This geometry gives a unique visual appearance to the building that changes constantly, according to the way you approach the building, also, conceives views to different parts of Istanbul. There are three hexagons in one level which are turning as the building rises. As they turn, they conceive different-sized apartments and balconies.

The building is optimized to obtain the maximum view of Marmara Sea while also the other parts of Istanbul. The balconies surrounding the buildings are located between a semi-open facade and a glass inner facade. This provides a cooling effect in the summer and a heat trapping effect in the winter.
