KUUM Hotel & Kuum Residences, Bodrum / Muğla
Completed in 2009, the 20,000 m² KUUM Hotel & Kuum Residences bear the architectural signature of Gökhan Avcıoğlu and GAD Architecture. Positioned on the beach and harmonizing with the hillside topography, the project is designed as an innovative settlement with a small footprint. The project was honored with the 2012 World Luxury Spa Awards for "Best Luxury Destination Spa" and the 2011 International Hotel Awards for "Best Hotel Architecture." Different from the projects undertaken in Bodrum until then and emphasizing a unique design, all program components of the design were determined according to the topography and sea views.
KUUM Hotel & Kuum Residences form not just a hotel but a small settlement with various units. Spread across approximately 20 acres, residences, hotels, spas, and piers are distributed along a 350-meter beach. The primary consideration in the settlement is that the structures do not obstruct each other's light, wind, and views while simultaneously creating shade for one another.
